Yep, that one tow would have paid for a 5 year membership.

No?
No, generally it's rotation towing. All the tow companies in an area get placed on a list and the police dispatchers call them in rotation. It's also not necessarily the fastest company that will come. Many years ago in California my car sat blocking two lanes of traffic on a busy street for 90 minutes while we waited for the tow truck to show up. After about an hour, I asked one of the cops if they could call another company. The answer was, no. The cops all just sat in their cars chilling, like they had all night, which they did.

Yep. A few years ago, my daughter got in an accident in Cary. The next tow truck on the list was from Fuquay, so we had to pay mileage between the two, even though other locations were closer.

I have always used Cricket towing in Cary. Always reasonable and even fixed my vehicle a couple times so I did not have to get it towed in.

I think its even been on TV...

But seriously, AAA (or Canadian AA) is a lifesaver if your insurance doesnt have towing. I pay for my Mom's because her car is a '04 and its worth that security alone. You dont even have to be a member, just have somebody present for the tow with the card. The 12% it saved on my moving truck rental paid for itself. They even have a service for cyclists.

Hi all, the tow truck was Canipes Towing locates at Navaho, raleigh, nc. oh well, it was a lesson learn. I should have handle this by myself. I wondered why state trooper acted so pushy and demand me to give him my decision whether to let him called the tow truck or not. Thanks all for the input.
