I know about the merger. I go by a very new Suntrust bank on 6308 Falls of Neuse in Raleigh that appears to be quickly shut down. The doors are locked with a cable. Like it was quickly done. Any idea why?

Consolidating duplicate locations?

Staffing?
My BBT guy tells me they cannot hire enough help.

They closed the BB&T up the road when the new Suntrust was built. Now a few months later, they close that?

We had to do something at Truist Bank last year. They told me that a lot of the Suntrusts became other banks. Only a few of them became Truist. So there is only one Truist in Chapel Hill and one in Carrboro whereas there used to be several Suntrusts.

Not sure which BB&T you're referring to, but it looks like the one a half-mile up the road by HomeGoods is now a Truist, so not surprising they closed the SunTrust.

I know it is petty, but something about the Truist font and logo rubs me the wrong way.

I will die on this hill.

It's right up there with commercials of silly-named drugs with lengthy and frightening disclaimers exploiting Classic Rock songs in corny ways.

Many of the duplicate SunTrusts here in Durham went to First Horizon; The branch downtown has outright closed.
