I got you. About the same distance but I don't like the new location.

However, they are gonna grow bigger, probably twice as big as the size now, which is an entire HT store. Size wise, they can be compared with H-mart, Liming and A&C now.So it's an upgrade. And I'm curious to see what it's becoming.

Their current store is 30,000 square feet. The Harris Teeter is a small location, only 25,000 SF.

Of course, there's nothing saying they couldn't reconfigure the HT shopping center to gain more space. It's over 60,000 SF total.

I remember now that the HT is a small one. However, their cafe is closed, so just about 25,000 SF in use, which is a good fit.
I don't believe they will reconfigure the entire shopping center.

now THAT's a stretch
the derelict mall, SINGLE Asian store location of Grand Asia Market is neither iconic nor like "Chinatown" literally ANYWHERE.
They'll be moving ONE EXIT CLOSER to Raleigh, from just OUTSIDE 440 to just INSIDE 440
from one derelict shopping center to another derelict shopping center

Haven't found the rezoning application for South Hills yet myself, but WRAL says it's out. Up to 1775 residential units and 335k SF of office anchored by the town's sports center.

Edit: I've found an initial PDP application, but it seems to be claiming 4.5 million square feet of non-residential and 1,750 residential units on 44 acres. That can't possibly be right, can it? Fenton is ultimately planned to be a max of around 2.5 million square feet over 90 acres.

Thank goodness it's on the east side of Cary, otherwise WCPSS would be in trouble.

I bet they chose the East side to get as far away from all that Durham crime as possible.

^^^I kid, I kid. I'm not always a huge fan of all this development and gentrificaiton, but it's going to happen weather I like it or not, so I'm trying to get excited about what might come. If it's anything like Fenton, I won't go. Not a protest, I just don't fine ANYTHING exciting about Fenton. Nothing! Same with North Hills, although I occasionally end up there to meet people for dinner, that only happens when I'm not the one choosing the place.

New apartments, and even many new townhouses, generally don't "generate" many students. Old houses that are resold to young families result in more students.
