Hi there, we will be moving to Cary/Raleigh this summer and would like recommendations for docs in the following disciplines:

* Primary physicians for adults
* Primary for teens, one boy and one girl (Duke Children?)
* OB/GYN
* Gastro for GI and liver
* General dentist
* Orthodontist
* Optometrist

Boy, I just realized how many body parts we have to routinely fine tune and maintain. A sign of aging...

Thank you for any input or stories you could share with the forum.

Are you moving to Cary or Raleigh? It's quite a large area - I wouldn't recommend my dentist or orthodontist to someone who lives on the other side of Cary, or in Raleigh. Particularly with the orthodontist who gets seen so often.

I mean this is who I use......

Adult Primary Physician - Wake Internal Medicine (any of the doctors at the Durant Road/North Raleigh location are great)
Dentists - Stansell Dentistry/Wainright & Wassel
Optometrist - MyEyeDr on Six Forks Road

A relatively new development might make diversifying of primary care and specialist care (not eye or dentistry) a little easier is that the three main hospital systems (Duke, UNC/Rex and WakeMed) have all switched over to Epic software, and all can finally see each other's patient records. Some primary care and specialists also have access now. In my experience, this can reduce duplicated testing and also provides the medical staffs with historical test data they might not otherwise have had (if you're new to them).

It also somewhat eases the patient's own information submission and upkeep to the physicians as most of it can be done via keyboard / online, versus scrawling the same info over and over and OVER on paper forms. It can be a very refreshing experience to NOT be handed the clipboard paperstack from hell when walking in for a visit.

Good point! We are moving to Cary but from a quick browse it looks like Raleigh has more established medical care facilities? I could be very wrong on this.

I don't mind driving a bit to see qualified doctors because quality usually translates into fewer trips.

With regards to ortho... our current one is horrible, completely messing up my daughter's jawline. I am really looking forward to see someone who knows what he/she is doing so my daughter's treatment can end successfully, sometime. In conclusion, I do not mind driving further out for ortho.

Well if you're moving to West Cary I recommend Bovenizer and Baker for orthodontist. But if you're going to be living in southeastern Cary that would be too far.

More medical facilities are stopping to pop up in western Wake (finally!).

I don't think that's correct - you'll find plenty of qualified doctors in Cary.

Could you share their names? I am just googling for reviews and mapping locations and it's a bit inefficient.
