FYI...Trane split off from Ingersoll-Rand in March 2020 - most of the legacy IR leadership moved with the new Trane. Trane, American Standard, and ThermoKing are now a single independent company known as Trane Technologies.

I would probably say most of them are not that great, in modern times.

I can tell you here in west Cary - many new neighborhoods have Lennox systems as someone in this thread mentioned. Have seen many leaking Lennox units in Ridgefield Farms. A ton of them have leaking evap coils. And some people who shelled out money to replace the coil, the replacement coil is leaking refrigerant once again!

York has a 10 year parts AND labor warranty from Air Innovations so many people getting replacement units from them.

As with a lot of fields there is considerable turnover in the ranks of HVAC repair folks and with that comes a level of quality control consistency for HVAC companies.

Would you mind sharing the name of your AC person (you can send a DM if you like)? We have some quotes for Trane and well....we are shocked at the cost :-( The lowest level one that was quoted was $12k and the highest unit was $18.5K!!! This is just for our upstairs. I can't imagine what the cost would have been had it been our downstairs unit that needed replacement.
