Family member is having surgery next week at the Duke Medicine Pavilion at 10 Duke Medicine Circle. I'd like to stay a night or two to visit them. Any recommendation on which nearby hotel offers the best overall value? Depending on their condition, there's a possibility that the family member might stay with me one night at the hotel before going home. Just want to be clear that I'm not looking for the cheapest option but preferably one that's close to the hospital, clean and comfortable.

Residence Inn is a newish hotel about a 5 min drive from the hospital.

Stayed there twice and would stay again.

Second the Residence Inn. One of the nicer RIs I’ve stayed at.

There's an AC Hotel on Erwin Road that is pretty new right down the street from the hospital. That would be the most value option in the area.

A lot of my patient's stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and like it. And it's walkable to places on 9th St.

Third the Residence Inn. Stayed here after a procedure I had when I had to be back for more the next day. Great location.

There's a fairly no-frills place that's practically attached to the hospital parking deck, for family members staying to be with patients, that my Dad stayed in a lot when my Mom was there with cancer: The Lodge at Duke. Again, it's no-frills (the presume people are there to visit the hospital, not hang out in the hotel) but good price & location for that, and plenty of good restaurants etc are not far from the hospital
