I’m looking at online universities for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. I work very odd and sometimes long hours and would find it hard with set deadlines and set times that universities generally require. My wife is currently working on her BSN via UNCW, so I’ve seen how she’s had to do her coursework. WGU, says it’s a competency based program, and grants degrees based on what you know. The important thing is that it appears they tell you what they want, and you do the work as time permits.

I’ve did a google search on WGU and have seen good and bad reviews. Most appear positive, and I see where some NC Community Colleges have an association with them. So I guess they’re legit.

Are there any current or former WGU students here? If so, what was your experience like?

Also, the most important thing, do employers recognize and hold their degree programs in a good light?

I certainly don’t want to waste my time and money, only for employers to call it a quack degree.

Thanks
