My screened porch is covered in pollen - can't believe it.

I swear the pollen season is worse here in the Piedmont than it was growing up in the WNC woods.

well, i agree about the visible pollen from pine trees.
more here than there since most of the "old growth"
oaks and others have been cut, so the fast-growing
pines take over. as far as over-all pollen goes:
i do not know.

I don't know, but this is the first year (I've been in NC since 1977 and in the Triangle since 1992) that my head has felt like it was going to explode. The allergies are worse than ever before for me.

And it's at least a month early, right? We usually get the yellow plague in April, not March? I fear the worst is yet to occur. (Until we can see our tire-marks in the yellow dust, it's still far below peak.)

I am hoping that the the probable freezes this week will make it so that the pollen is subdued later in the season.

Maybe that's wishful thinking..

I was wondering about this as well, if the 80 degree temps followed by freeze warnings shortens the pollen or just prolongs it?

I'm just worried that the frost will cause the Dogwood blossoms to fall off.

Every year we come up with some thing that we hope will lessen the impact of the pollen LOL. Hope springs eternal.

Hilarious. This is my 8th pollen season in Raleigh and I was thinking...I wonder if the cold snap and rain will shorten the pollening season.

Just like I wondered this other years 1) when it was warm 2) when it was windy 3) when it was rainy 4) when it was early 5) when it was late

Maybe one year I'll wish upon a star and it will come up right. So far, no dice.
