Just curious what the UNC fans think about the quick decision to not play in the NIT. I'm an ABC fan, so of course I think it is Sour Grapes. What do the faithful think ?

Shows that the players run that locker room…way too much going on with that program and the University in general. Sad state of affairs.

Apparently the players voted to not play in the NIT - which makes the decision a little better but also shows that Coach Davis might not have the greatest handle on the locker room there.

I concur.

It's been a rough year to be a Carolina fan. Not as bad as 2010 or 2020; but still. The off-the-court shenanigans I think have made it so the team doesn't want to be around eacother much.

I feel really bad for Bacot.

To claim that the NIT is not an important tourney for your young players to participate in is total bunk. That's a good tourney with many good teams in it. With that arrogance I hope UNC falters again next season!

They've passed on the NIT in the past, when Dean Smith was the coach.

A NIT Championship hangs a banner in the rafters above the court forever. Kids cut down nets and you are a champion. Nobody can take that away. I don’t understand schools passing on that opportunity…including Duke when they did.

I think the issues with the team are bigger that the NIT refusal. Here's a team that went to the finals of the NCAA tournament last year under a first year coach. This year, they were ranked #1 in the preseason polls with the same coach and four returning players. Then this season went to squat and they weren't even invited to the NCAA tournament. What the heck is/was going on?

I agree. His stock has plummeted over the course of this season. If he would have left at the end of last year, his value would have been much greater.
