We've been going to Amedeos for their thick crust pizza for over 20 years. I guess we are outliers. We prefer thick crust. Most posts are about NY style or thin crust. Unfortunately Amedoes has retired their thick crust so we are searching for a replacement. Anyone know a good pizza place with thick crust in the Apex, Cary, Raleigh area?

Are you talking pan pizza like Chicago style, or just thicker than NY Style?

I know it’s a chain, but I really like Marcos. Thicker than NY style but not crazy thick.

There’s always Sicilian or Grandma Pie, both of which can be found at Mezza Luna in apex.

I'm not sure about the different styles. I think we've had Chicago style. It seemed deep on the sides (at pan edge) but thin in the center and heavy with toppings. We just like thick across the whole pizza and heavy. I think Sicilian, if I remember correctly, reminds me of wonder bread.

Sounds like Sicilian. Never had Mezza Luna's but their grandma pie is good. J&S Pizza in Apex probably has the best Sicilian in the area.

https://www.rosatispizza.com/ in Morrisville? It was ok when I had it last in 2017. They have double dough options.
Mezza Luna is usually pretty good.
I was surprised by Pizzeria Veritas (NY style) tho.

Frozen - Motor City Pizza I've found at Costco and Walmart is thick like garlic bread.....and a lot cheaper at about 88.432% the quality of restaurant-cooked pies....just say'n. Throw some extra toppings on it.

I've heard that Jet's Pizza has a pretty yummy thick crust (they call it a Detroit pizza). I've never had it, but I am going to try it soon.

Anna's Pizzeria in Apex always made a good Sicilian slice.
