This webpage has a chart for cumulative rainfall at RDU for year to date (YTD), which is the 3rd chart down. It shows that we are below average.

Crazy that it's back to being in a deficit after several weeks of surplus with the rainy spring we had. But come to think of it after the complete washout of Memorial Day Weekend...there has been hardly anything in the last 3 weeks until today.

Looks like I probably should have mowed the lawn this morning when I had a chance....may be a jungle landscape by the time it is dry enough to mow again...yikes.

If you go to the NC Drought Management Advisory Council's website at www.ncdrought.org it updates the drought conditions across the state. The Triangle is not currently in a drought or even Abnormally Dry. I have used this site for many years.

If you want to track the entire country and see some wider context, I have used this link for years now. https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/
From this site, you can zero in on regions and states by clicking on the map.

The link is (understandably) no longer working, but I think it said we'd have rain for a full week.

Happily, we got plenty of rain, but also plenty of breaks from it. I was able to sneak in great bike rides on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, and got the lawn mowed too.

All in all, not horrible weather for this time of year. (I never EVER cancel plans on any forecast that is more than a few hours old. But also have to 'pounce' when there's a break in the bad weather sometimes.)
