Whenever I go to a park they have several signs reminding people not to leave their valuables in their car...awareness that crime can happen. Maybe something similar on Glenwood South would help make people aware (but not scared). Don't excessively drink, put down your phone and pay attention to your surroundings, ect. Everyone deserves some fun after a hard week of school or work but a little vigilance can go a long way to defeat crimes of opportunity, and the police can't be everywhere at one.
I'm a "Nothing good happens after midnight" sort. And that concept seems completely moot at this point.
Seems Raleigh has let this get wildly past them.
Yes...I agree and I always try to be home by 10PM before all the madness starts.
I have a major street running behind my home and it's amazing how many cars are out during the wee hours of the morning and my neighbors house on that street got shot one night during a random drive by. He wasn't hit, but still a scary thought knowing you could get shot just laying in your own bed at night minding your own business. I have security cameras back there now that will record any future mayhem that goes on.
Maybe one possible solution is for businesses to close by 11PM, or even 10PM, at least until things calm down. I don't think anyone would be able to relax and enjoy themselves with armed guards standing on every street corner.
