People are moving out and not coming back because of crime. That's not good.
Downtown Raleigh could eventually become the next San Francisco. I feel bad for the business owners but they do have a choice to either stay or move to another area of Raleigh...assuming they can break their lease agreements because of uncontrolled crime.
We decided to go to Alpaca (of all places) tonight and pulled up on it minutes after it had just happened. I tried to google it but since it had just happened I couldn't find anything on it yet. And the only reason why I told my husband we would go was because it was not dark yet, we hadn't been in awhile and were close by. And to top it off, when we were leaving Alpaca, a crazy woman came up to my husband asking for money. He told her he didn't have any and she yelled super loud "bad 2 words" and shockingly my husband replied back with the same. Then she walked back to us and kept yelling it at us along with the hand sign (even as we were diving away). I told my husband you can't reply back with stuff nowadays and that she could have shot or stabbed us. Just say sorry we don't have any cash and then keep your mouth shut! After tonight, I'm done with that entire area now.
Wake Med ER on New Bern is another place that we will never go to after our experience there last week. Maybe at some point I will share. All I can say is that my husband and I are still completely in shock with everything that went on that night.

Wake Med North has always been a positive experience for us, but Duke Raleigh is about the same distance from our home. The Wake Med on New Bern is the main campus so things probably get more chaotic there than the smaller satellite locations.

Wake Med North is right by us however every time we go in there for heart issues they want to take us by ambulance to the Wake Med on New Bern. So we decided to just bypass that whole process and go straight to New Bern.

How is Duke Raleigh's ER?
For emergencies we always go to Wake Med North. I've seen doctors in the Duke Raleigh Medical building but have never used the ER at the hospital next door, so maybe someone else will chime in.
