When I was a kid, an N&O columnist joked that everyone in NC was from towns so small, everyone knew where everyone else was going -- hence, nobody needs to use turn signals.

Cities in the Triangle could make a fortune by having officers ticket drivers who don't use their turn signals -- as they do in other cities. Then they could pay the officers more and not have a shortage.

I've lived here decades, and it's no better than it ever was.

True, but they cannot even ticket drivers who are driving 90mph, weaving in and out of traffic, red light runners and aggressive drivers. They can't even do the obvious.

Then after rush hour is over around 10-10.30am, all the police come out to ticket drivers who are old and going to the grocery store.
