Kitten Season is Out of Control. Are warmer winters to blame?

Saw my first copperhead of the season. Was sunning itself on a rock. Quickly disappeared when we got closer.

I encountered my first snake of the year last week when I went to mow my lawn for the first time this season. It was sunning itself in my lawn and I practically stepped on it. He was successfully moved to our bushes since he was a good snake Thankfully in our 18 years here we have never encountered a copperhead.

I should have mowed on Thursday...I got distracted/busy. Going to be a jungle by the time it's dry enough to mow.

The air this afternoon was notably less "dusty" with all of the rain yesterday/this morning. Took a couple laps around Lake Lynn and didn't have grit in my teeth which was nice. Though the yellow slime pooling along the edge of the lake wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing.

Some good steady rain out there now, should help with the tree pollen and shorten the time length at least by a little. Goal is to be done by end of April.

Yes I mowed on on Tuesday fortunately. Was actually my second mowing of the season. I only mow the back yard as HOA contracts with Yardnique to mow all of the the front yard in the neighborhood. I try to mow on the same day they do if I can (they usually mow on Tuesdays; hopefully soon switching to Mondays to not coincide with trash pick up day)

Prof at NCSU has come up with a formula to predict the end of the pollen

"...it’ll be safe to wash the car by April 13"
