Hi all

Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a moving company to move us from the Annapolis, MD area to Raliegh? We are moving just a 2 bedroom apartment, not a lot, but would like to use movers if it where affordable.

Also wondering if anyone had any suggestions on area apartments or townhouse rentals that you've had good experiences with? We are eventually looking to buy a house, but would like to just rent for a year ...preferably in the $700-1000 range, 2 of us, and a dog. Any area that's not difficult to get to Raliegh from.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Default Welcome

I know the Annapolis area well since I used to live in nearby Crofton, Maryland. May I ask what brings you to the Raleigh area? Please keep in mind that the more details you share about yourself the better advice you’ll get from this board.

I’d also like to say that compared to the stress of living in Maryland, the Raleigh area often makes me feel like I’m on an extended vacation. You’ll love it here!

Grizz, My significant other is going to be telecommuting with his DC office there, I'm just simply looking for a change, calmer place to live, am not interested in sitting on the metro daily for work. Not to mention Annapolis and other DC suburb home prices are ridiculous, we'd like to eventually purchase a home, start a family etc, without handing over a first-born to a bank.

Thanks for the comments so far!

Thumbs up Southern Comfort in Northern Raleigh

My wife and I opted to relocate to Wake Forest, North Carolina back in 2004 and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Wake Forest has exceeded our expectations on just about every level as infrastructure has improved without the area losing its small town charm. Most Northerners end up moving to Cary but that area reminds me way too much of what I was trying to get away from in the DC area.

I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

Contact JK Moving & Storage*-*Welcome to JK Moving & Storage, Inc. (http://www.jkmoving.com/contact.html - broken link)

We used them when we moved from Tysons Corner to Richmond. We have moved nearly a dozen times in the last ten years including 4 interstate moves and they blew everyone away in terms of service.
