I found NCSU vet school to be really expensive BUT we went to them with a somewhat critical/specialized situation. Is their routine care pretty reasonable?

I'm really surprised they don't have a low-cost vet in the area. What about the local SPCA or Humane Society?

Where do you live?

A lot of vets will offer Care Credit.

Raccemup, thanks for the misinformation. We just went to Hilltop based on your recommendation, and they DO charge an office fee. Moderator cut: off topic $40.

At the very least, I can recommend my vet who does not charge an office visit (Hilltop Animal Hospital in Fuquay). That will at least save you $40 right there.

There's a dog rescue that i got my dog from in Wilson, NC. I know they don't charge an office fee, its run by a great staff and they are so extremely affordable. I highly recommend them.

I'm pretty sure they take cats but its worth looking into.

Also, Banfield, the vet office located inside Petsmart, actually has several packages you can purchase. No credit required. You pay a monthly payment to keep your pet healthy through the duration of their life. Very affordable!

We sometimes go to...

North Wake Animal Hospital

2160 S Main St
Wake Forest, NC 27587

(919) 556-1121‎

I have seen some mixed reviews of this place but when they charged 400$ LESS for a surgery on my dogs eye...guess where I went! No appointments are needed, just walk in. You would have to call them to find out about fees and payment. Best wishes!

I would have called to confirm prices before I took my pets in
It was a referral not a quote from the office...JMO

I went to Hilltop Vet Hos. on the recommendation of poster raceemcup because poster said the vet did not charge a office visit. $231 (i went in for regular shots and rabies vaccine) I had an office visit charge ($42) on my bill. So that vet definately charges an office visit.

Smile Low Cost Vetenarians

Does anyone know where I can take my puppy for shots that possibly have a clinic or lower cost vaccines? I am in the Raleigh NC area?
