So I just got back from a two week trip to CA. Imagine my surprise when I got to my neighborhood Kangaroo (Davis Dr just past Morrisville-Carpenter) to find out that there's no gas (any grade) available. What's up with that? Where's the gas?

Lovely to see how free market supply/demand isn't working. If it were, we'd see high prices but available gas.

Any ideas when the Triangle will get some deliveries?

This is totally different, since gas has to come via the pipeline and if the pipeline was not up, it takes 7-10 days for gas to get here once it's up and running. Unless you wanted to pay someone to drive a tanker here from another region and pay $20 a gallon. That might happen if we were totally devoid of gas, but there are many stations that have it available. Again we have supply, just not at every gas station. I haven't had a problem getting gas at all since Ike.

Attorney General Cooper has scared the operators away from profiteering and that is good.

My MIL said that the Kangeroo stations near her (Pinehurst) are out of gas as well. And the one at the corner of Harrison and, um, Maynard maybe? was out as well. So maybe that particular company is having trouble laying hands on gas. But there were plenty of stations in Cary with gas today otherwise.

Yikes. I was down there last week looking at houses and saw the prices. I came back home and gas in PA was about $3.45. I filled up in jersey yesterday for $3.17.

Kangaroo sells Hugo Chavez gas, and is in a legal tinkling match with Citgo.
They claimed they were not getting proper wholesale prices.
I wonder if suing their supplier has had any effect on their supply?

The sad thing is I was excited about 3.84 I thought it seemed reasonable compared to what I had seen other places....quite jealous of your 3.17 and in new jersey don't they pump your gas for you!?

I guess we are all just going to have to make sure we fill up WAY before we get near empty, because on my way to Southpoint on Friday, I saw all the gas stations on 55 in Durham Co. were out of gasoline also (and were not Kangaroos)
