I need a good men's hairstylist who knows what they are doing with the shears and has at least some experience. This immediately eliminates Great Clips, Sports Cuts and the likes. I've had enough with them.

I saw people recommend Mina's but their cut is over $30 and I was hoping to keep it under $30. Still might give them a try if nothing else decent comes up.

Anybody heard of Gary Camden? What about Studio K in Durham?

I used to go to Mina's but my husband always went to Syd's in Carrboro.

Joyce @ American Tobacco is the place to go. With tip you're going to get close to $30 but you'll get a great cut. She books up weeks in advance so you'll want to get on her schedule ahead of the time you need a cut.

$30 for a hair cut is outrageous by any standard. What do you get with that hair cut, a free car wash and a coupon for "Chick-Fil-A"?

Definitely go see George. Even when I lived out of state, I would wait till I came back to visit family to get my haircut. No one else has ever cut it right.

How much is the cut at that Tar Heel Barber Shop? Do they do scissors or is it strictly clippers only? Never really been to a barber shop so I have no idea what to expect...

Any others? Keep them coming, I want to have some options.

Thanks to everybody pitching in!

I think it is $20; scissors and clippers

Hot lather on the neck with straight razor

Syd's. Men's haircuts are $35, and worth every penny (I'm a former Great Clip-per).
