I love good seafood so I was wondering if anybody has eaten at McCormick & Schmicks at Crabtree yet? How is the atmosphere and food?

Not the one at Crabtree but I have eaten at the one in DC a number of times and thought it was great. Hope to go to the one at Crabtree soon.

Agreed, although be prepared to feel pretty useless for a while after eating it!!

Crabtree compares quite well to the DC location.

We ate there in SF, not sure if they have it here but ask them for calamari steak, it's exquisite.

Been to the one in MD several times but to me it's less the restaurant and more the proximity to fresh fish and seafood. In MD, crabs were right out the back door as well as some of the other fish they used. Spices are spices and food cooked on an assembly line usually comes out the same 75-80% of the time.

That being said. I have not been to the one down here but my assumption is that it will be pretty good as they do have a good reputation but beware the "fresh" fish may not be as fresh as you would like. It's always frozen, sink defrosted and rotated to last as long as possible like at most seafood restaurants.

Been there and it is out of this world. And it is a chain. How can that be?

Sometimes chains are great! There's one in CA that is absolutely fantastic - it's called In n Out Burger

I said that with a bit of humor, given how some people look down on chains for some strange and unknown reason. I have no problems with chains. It's all in how things are cooked and how they are managed. I could not care less if something is local or a chain. I just want good food and lots of it.
