Moved here from California 4 months ago. I talked to a friend last night and he told me it was 85 degrees last weekend. Sigh...cant complain though. I LOVE it here, even the cold weather. Just bundle up!
Again, the fact of the matter is that it is much warmer here on average in the winter than it is in the northeast. Anyone who thinks the temps are the same here as in the northeast in the winter must have suffered frostbite of the memory.....
No one thinks it's the same in NC as the NE--I think everyone understands how that works. But it's also not that warm in NC in winter. It is less freezing to those from the NE and midwest but it's still not warm. Come on! I lived in Boston for years (and further North than that). I hated the cold weather. I understand it's warmer in NC. But it's not great. It's not warm in winter. The best part of winter in NC is that it does not last as long as it does up North. There are a LOT of places in the US with MUCH more comfortable winter weather than NC. I wish I lived in one of them.
You'll notice you pretty much only people from ridiculously cold parts of the U.S. comment on how it's so mild.
This weekend was picture perfect NC weather. It's great to be in NC.
