I like to grow a small culinary herb container garden, and I'm finally in a climate where I can do that again. Lowe's and Home Depot seem more suited for landscaping larger lawns. Where in the Triangle can I find organic seeds/starter herb plants?

For Raleigh, I'd say try Logan's Trading in downtown (Seaboard area).

Niche gardens outside of Carrboro is worth a look around for the interesting plants and yard art. The Carrboro Farmer's Market has quite a few starter plants, many of them raised organically. Probably some of the other farmer's markets would be good, as well.

You'd probably find some good starter plants at the Farmers Market in Raleigh. I buy most of my herb plants there, and I keep them in containers on the back deck. I think one of the vendors I like is called Archer Lodge Herb Farm.

I'm not in the 'know' with organic gardening, but there's a post on Craig's list for roses & gardening plants. The lady 'Rhea' doesn't list a web-site, but does give out her phone # for questions, etc. and mentions the Hillsborough Farmer's Market--she might have a booth there? Good luck!!

If you want year round mirogardening, I'd recommend 5th season in Carrboro to think about an indoor hydroponics gardening. Just 2-cents

I think online options are great nowadays. If you ever look at the gardenwatchdog website you can find highly-rated online companies that will deliver quality trees/seeds/shrubs/bulbs etc.

The watchdog 30 are the highest rated online companies for gardners.
