I have the stupidest question to ask: Does anyone (besides me) get shocked by the WalMart carts?

I was at the Brier Creek Walmart this morning. Pushing the cart, my hands were on the metal part of the handle, not the plastic part. After a few minutes, it felt like pin pricks in my palms! So strange!

Has anyone else gotten a reaction like that?

Yes.... I get zapped by those carts all the time and have mentioned it to the cashiers several times at checkout. It is annoying getting shocked and it only seems to be at that particular store. I'm not sure why Walmart hasn't switched to plastic carts.

I'd have to imagine it has something to do with the heaters/fans in the cart storage area... not to mention the constant breeze blowing across them.

Can't say that I've ever had one zap me though... lol

It's never happened to me but I think I keep my hands on the plastic strip. I'm going to pay attention next time and see what the "buzz" is about.

Yes!! And then I get shocked when I open the fridge and freezer doors in that store as well. I am the crazy person going round Walmart saying OUCH! every few seconds.

LOL! I thought the same thing but decided not to post it... thanks for doing so!! Maybe that's why I've never experienced a shock from one of their carts, I don't enjoy shopping there at all.
