My husband has orders to Fort Bragg for this summer. We'd like to live on post, but the waiting lists are very long. There is a neighborhood called Linden Oaks that is technically military housing but it's up north of Spring Lake. Does anyone know how the area is? I've heard conflicting reports on the safety in the area.

Thanks!

We are a moving company that moves residents in and out of Linden Oaks all the time. I dont know much about the safety but the area looks nice.

The safety issue you've heard of is probably in Spring Lake itself. Like most larger communities surrounding military bases, crime & safety is a concern. However, Linden Oaks is actually part of a rural community that is expanding and is pretty much halfway between Fayetteville and Sanford. They've built a new KFC and Taco Bell in supermarket strip mall across from the housing area. A McDonalds is being built and will probably be open by Labor Day, if not sooner. We've lived in the area for over 10 years and love it. Best of luck in your move.
