We recently moved to the area, and still looking for a good Italian Restaurant.
I'm looking for a restaurant that is not a chain, and makes good old- fashioned homemade Italian food. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you..

All the above are good suggestions but based on the OP's request for "good old fashioned homemade Italian food" I'd suggest Casalinga hits the mark best.

Their menu does look good, and it looks like they have a lot to offer. I have to check them out when I'm out that way sometime.

I've heard lots of people that like Casalinga, I went there for a birthday dinner and wasn't impressed at all. Maybe just an off night.

We ate at Vic's in City Market last week and it was very good.

The only Italian restaurant in Cary or Raleigh that we tried more than twice was Piccola Italia in Cameron Village. I grew up in Southern CT and we had lots of really good Italian restaurants so I have high standards (although I concede this is quite subjective!).

I agree that Piccola Italia is a good suggestion for old-fashioned, non-fusion Italian. Also Casa Carbone on Glenwood.

Piazza Italia in Durham. You want homemade? All pasta, sauces and even the gelato are homemade. Give it a try just once. You won't be disappointed.
