Hi, we are looking for a home that is new or newer (up to 5 years old) and up to $600,000 price. We are having difficulty finding a quality home with character and either a brick or stone front. We'd like over 3000 sq ft. We are interested in S. Cary or Apex. Any ideas? Thanks. This forum is awesome!

Toll Brother is too cookie cutter for me. Try The Park At West Lake, the Woodlands section. They are custom built. You can even choose a lot (from what is available), choose a builder (from those in the developement) and build your own plan.

John Weiland has a few lots left in Sunset Oaks that are very nice with brick fronts.

Tuscany is nice too off of Sunset Lake Rd.

Terrington is another custom spot off Tryon and Walnut.

I'd also keep an eye on the foreclosures...You can get the $600k home for $450-500k instead!

When you say "S. Cary or Apex" do you need to be in the city? What I mean is, can you be in unincorporated Wake county and be on a community well, septic system, etc.? When I drive east/west on Ten Ten and Penny between Holly Springs Rd and Kildaire Farm I see lots of very nice custom houses that look to be in that price range. . . . and much more.

The Park at Langston and Jamison Park are both beautiful neighborhoods and worth a look.

Agreed, just beware of 540 coming in through the back of Jamison.
