The cary mall has a Merry go round and an inflatable jumpy room thing as well as an area with all of those coin operated rides.

As cary_nc said, Southpoint has a play area, and it is probably the closest mall to where you live as well. The other Raleigh area malls (Crabtree and Triangle Town Center) also have play areas.

My opinion from the father of a (just turned) 2 year old. Each of the play areas seems to be oriented toward children of different ages. I find the play area at Southpoint better suited to older children (3-4 and up). Many of the slides and other obstacles are a little advanced for small children, especially when the play area gets crowded (which it always seems to be!). Triangle Town Center has a good play area for young children (3 and under), but the slides and play areas aren't very challenging for older children. But you do see some pretty old children in there, and they can sometimes make it hard on the little ones. Crabtree has the worst play area, IMO, and we don't use it.
