My wife and I attended a Thursday evening wine tasting at Taylor's Wine Shop in North Raleigh located on Six Forks road just north of I-540. The wine shop is located in the "general store" within the BP Gas Station. They have a great selection of wine and beers at decent prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful if you need assistance picking out beer or wines. Usually about once a month they hold a free wine tasting on a thursday night from 6-8pm. I've gone to a handful so far and sometimes they can get quite crowded although the one tonight was a bit more intimate. It is a great way to meet new people IMO.

I like that Taylor's also sells locally made Larry's Beans coffee and Escazu chocolate from the business located in downtown Raleigh. This place is a real treat and I suggest you check them out if you are in the area. You can visit their website to find the date of their next tasting event or sign up for their mailing list.

Smile Thanks for reminding me about Larry's Beans!

This weekend my in-laws are coming down to visit us here in our "new" house for the first time... I wanted to have some good local coffee on hand. I wanted some anyway since I had some at Sitti, but I keep forgetting, so the visit will make me follow through ;-)

Wow, so THAT'S what was going on there last night. I passed the station around 6:30pm and the parking lot was packed. I figured I'd check the board to see if there was any info on what was going on, and whallah, NRG never fails to disappoint... Thanks! I'm definitely going to have to check one of the next events out there.

Where else but in NC would you find a wine tasting located in a gas station?!!

I LOVE the sign they have: "WINE a bit, you'll feel better"!!!

Great photos, NRG! Thanks for sharing. You could arrange a wine tasting for city data. It would help with OUR WHINERS!

Vicki

I can't recall the date of the next wine tasting, but when I find out I will post it here. I like your idea of a city-data meetup there Vicki.

Default Love Taylor's

Hey NRG, great to see that you are still doing your thing!

Taylor's is on my way to and fro so I'm a frequent visitor. The employees are really friend - I love Larry's Bean's - great wine selection. They are also big supporter's of the Komen walk and raise money to afford the local police help the day of the event so overall, a great local place to support and spend your dollars.
