Our family is considering a move to Raleigh, NC. Our criteria for making the decision is the following: support for special needs children, public schools, and employment prospects.

Given the above criteria, should we make the move?
Not a good idea right now.

We currently live in the Charleston area of SC where people are very friendly. Hopefully, we won't have to move.
I am also from Charleston and moving to the Raleigh area.

Fortunately, I have a job lined up. Now we have to get the DH gainful employment and find ourselves a place to call home.

Unless you are a nurse, there are very, very few healthcare employment prospects in the Charleston area. I'm not sure about Columbia, SC.

Let me know what your first impressions are when you get there especially in comparison to SC

I don't think the overall mood of the forum is poor towards jobs (I hope most are working) I think that currently the triangle is a difficult place to be looking for a job (of course there are exceptions)
