After many online searches and many phone calls to voice mails, I am desperate for answers! We're moving from NY to NC in 3 weeks and apartment rental, etc ALL depends on what the deal is with health insurance! Does anyone have any idea what health insurance costs are like specifically for wake county gov employees?? My husband will be employed by Wake County and My daughter and I will also need coverage. Can ANYONE please help with any cost info??? Thanks so much!!

Default Thanks, but...

I tried that site, but thank you for sending. I just can't really find anything that clearly explains to me what our monthly costs would be with the possible shared cost would be. Just wish I could talk to someone in Human Resources, but that's clearly not happening, so now hoping someone here has direct experience.
Thanks again

in your opinion (or anyone else that would care to share), is it silly to just make sure we're covered for my husband and daughter at first? We will be on one income and figuring out our new NC life. almost $500 a month is alot for the whole family.

Going without insurance would be more than silly. However, if you are young and healthy you might also check the rates on private insurance for yourself and maybe your daughter. The extra $334 to add you sounds dirt cheap to me, but I am old and have health problems. For a healthy young person I would think you could find a better rate. That is odd, I have never been offered or accepted a job without knowing what the health care costs are as part of the offer letter.
