I'm looking at moving from NY to Chapel Hill or Carroboro--I have a middle schooler and like the schools there--and would like to rent a home. I would consider a townhouse or apartment, too, but would prefer a home if at all possible. I'm willing to go up to about $2800 a month for the right place, although paying less would not be bad. I've searched Craigslist and Google, but I have a feeling there are other resources that I haven't tried. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
You can find a rental house in the Chapel Hill school district (depending of course on the exact location and what your specific needs are) for less than $2,800 a month.
Craigslist has quite a few. Most Craigslist ads are legit, but there are plenty of scams there, so caveat emptor.
Realtor.com has 37 rental listings from $1250--$2800/month in and around Chapel Hill, by Chapel Hill Zip Codes.
Might be a good place to start. Should be safer than Craigslist
I have been a fan of hotpads.com lately. The interface is pretty user friendly.
