I have asked this question before but realtors apparently can't reply due to law. Is Bedford a good place to buy for early retirees who want to see their
grandchildren, but also appreciate a quiet day when the kids are not visiting. We also have looked at Amberly, but like the interiors of the Bedford Charlestons (online at least) a lot. It's either there or someplace in Cary (400-450k) . Any non realtors who can tell us of more sedate neighborhoods (for the 50+ crowd) would be appreciated. Proximity to restaurants etc a plus. More city oriented than most....within a half hour + - of metro.
I am a realtor, and I can say, based on my experience as a person who has friends in the neighborhood (not as a realtor), I have friends there who are active retirees and decided to move there because the lots were small and they didn't want to have to take care of a huge yard any longer, and I have preschool mom friends who also live there and chose the neighborhood because it has great playgrounds and pools...................
So, my friends seem to run the gamut. I know there are parts of the neighborhood with bigger lots than others, my friends who are retirees have a large house (3000 square feet) on a lot that is .20, then there are other houses that have larger lots.
Anyhow, just my two cents, as a person with friends in the neighborhood!
