Most of the time the same ad is posted in mls that is posted on realtor.com as the realtors usually just send it to both at the same time to be published
actually realtor.com pulls (or automatically downloads) their data from mls. if the agent has the enhanced version of realtor.com (meaning they pay for additional services like more pictures, description, virtual tour) then the agent is able to switch up the pictures so that mls and realtor.com are different. if an agent only has the free version of realtor.com you (the buyer and seller) will only see one picture (whatever the main picture is on mls) and a limited description of the property for sale.
where I work, each agent can choose whether or not to submit their listing onto Realtor.com. We pay extra for an enhanced listing or to have a virtual tour linked to Realtor.com.
Palm, amazingly, some MLS boards are so old school, they don't want to partner with Realtor.com. Our MLS (until just recently) was one of them that was a nightmare to get on Realtor.com. I was one of the few that kicked and screamed and worked hard to get my listings on there. they had to be uploaded manually. Now, they upload automatically. I do enhance my listings.
leaving, it depends on how many listings you had last year. Call them and find out what your cost will be. The more listings you had, the more it costs.
Out of curiosity, how much is the enhanced listing on realtor.com?
It varies (greatly). Realtor.com bases their fees on the number of listings you had (they use the previous year's numbers) and if it's a single agent account or company paid account. One agent I work with paid approximately $700 this year for realtor.com enhanced version and another paid approximately $250 for the year. My office has single agent accounts (meaning the agents pay for the service not the company).
