We now have a new user group for the Real Estate Agents. Joining this usergroup will change your user title to "Real Estate Agent" and you will have a small icon displayed next to your user name with all your posts. This will let all potential clients know that your are an agent, so they will know to contact you or see your profile/website without you having to advertise and mention it in your posts. None of your other account features will change.

Join this usergroup here. Alternatively, you can click on "My Settings" and "Group Memberships" and select "Join Group." Then make sure to select "Identify me as a member of this group" next to "Real Estate Agents" and "Update Display Group."

I agree. When do Senior Members get an icon? Or better yet, how about a new user group for C-D addicts?

Default agents and brokers

Great idea.

Is it possible to divide that into "real estate brokers" and "real estate agents"?

A (designated) real estate broker is not the same thing as an agent, would be nice to have the right title.

Each company has a designated real estate broker, and the other licensees are the "agents" of that broker.

I want a typewriter with the little slash across it and a crown on top since I am quite the "typo queen"

I think being able to identify the realtors in different areas is a good thing for those having questions

However do you need a disclousre stating "we are not recommending using these realtors" or something along those lines.

just a thought

Maybe "Real Estate Professional" could cover both?

Default designated broker vs agent

That's the same in Colorado but they aren't really designated brokers.

There is only one designated broker in each company. All the other licensees in that company are agents of that designated broker. You can be called a broker in a company without being the designated broker - which means you are the agent of the designated broker for that company. Even if you have a broker's license, if you are working for a designated broker then you are the "agent" of that broker.

There is only one designated broker for every 20 agents or so.

Also, at least in California, the broker's exam is much more difficult than the agent's exam.
