And what exactly would the realtor sue you for anyway since no commission has been agreed upon?

I think it's pretty well established that the agent turned down the job.

"In May 2012 we decided to try again to sell and offered her the job. She was bitter and said she wanted nothing to to with it."

According to that statement, the agent refused the job offer, so there is no basis for any law suit.

I agree. Just pointing out one more reason why the claim of suing is ridiculous.

I dont know about all states, but in Texas, the TREC clearly states no agent or broker may attempt to collect a commission without a written contract for services.

You can lose your license for trying to collect a commission without a written agreement spelling one out.

... and this is why many of us have said "File a complaint". In most states its easy to do. It would be good to know if OP had anything in writing so that it's not just her word but written proof.
