Gv28: why do you say lease-back is never a good idea? I'd like to hear thoughts on this as we might be facing the same situation and not able to move right away after selling.
TownandCountryGal, I've followed your difficult journey for some time now. If you ever get an offer on that house, just take it. Don't complicate it with stuff like this.

This is the kind of stuff that may be making those realtors refuse to take your listing, among the other known issues.

Keep your eye on the goal line.

A house is too big an asset to just "let the future take care of itself".

Get your ducks in a row in February, or nearer to your lease expiring, and find a house which works for you at that time. Could be that the house which has caught your eye will still be on the market after the first of the year and you can do a better deal than at present.

Definitely not waiting until Feb. I cannot renew the lease- not holding up the kids from finding a suitable location for them by doing some month to month at $400 extra a pop. I can move before and just pay my part for a month or two...as my mtg. will not be due anyhow. By the trends- 60 days is pretty normal round here. Everything is a chance. I think the house might be over priced and the appraisal might come under and she may not budge,,, also the trends show prices are up- sales are down and more have come on the market big time... its a great little web site
