We bought a twin home from the family who built both sides of it. The family still lives next door. The way they decorated our side of the house is nice and very pretty but not all rooms are painted the colors I'm Corcoran me with. I admit that I as we were repainting I suspected that the original owners were a bit offended - I suspect they viewed our repainting as somehow criticizing their color choices!

We are very friendly with them but still there's something hanging in the air when we get together. Oh well, we've sold the house and close at the end of this month. The new owners have already been in with their decorator and paint chips. I know they will be repainting the entire interior as well as ripping out the entire kitchen. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when the original owners hear/see all the renovations taking place! I doubt our new owners and the original owners will become friends because if this! The original builders fancy themselves as quite the decorators!

By the way, these twin homes are only 15 years old so they only need updates that reflect the current owners tastes.

We did it. They are great people and told us before we bought it's not often you get to pick your neighbors. No matter what, I always tell them how much we love the house.

We sold our house to our next-door neighbor, a contractor and friend. He intended to use the house as a rental for a while ... and then let his daughter (special needs live there). In order to make it a better rental property, he changed a lot of the exterior landscaping and things we worked hard to put-in. Oddly enough, I found myself somewhat resenting the changes. I realize that makes no sense and it is no longer our house, but, just something to think about.
