This is a satirical look at preparing a home for sale. It is definitely not to be taken seriously. These are some pics that I took at one of the homes I was previewing for a client. This is where previewing homes saves a realtors clients a lot of valuable time.
  • First add some color in the living room. A beautiful peach combined with a chartreuse adjoining wall and azure blue carpet is sure to be a conversation piece for your guests.
  • Add some orange trim for variety and excitement
  • Carry the orange into the kitchen to make a bright airy statement.
  • It's ok to mix and match the appliance colors for contrast.
  • As for the garage, that's the man's place so place a few items strategically around the area to make it look used.
  • In the pool area, be sure to place some comfortable lounge chairs to make the pool area more inviting.
  • And don't forget that first impressions are very important. You want your buyers to know that you're protecting the kitchen area from the westerly sun, so strategically placing an exciting, mature plant in that area will do the trick.
This is all in fun. The home is a short sale somewhere in the valley, and obviously the family has moved out.

And just to add a little seriousness to the whimsical post, this can be an investors or handy person's dream. Homes like this require only cosmetic redecorating. Some new paint, carpet, appliances, yard work, and get the pool back in shape and one has a great home. Buy it at the right price; know the cost of remodeling; and it could possibly be a bargain.
