This. We sold our last house 3 years ago and all the Listing pictures are still on Zillow.
Yes...I usually find prior listing photos on Redfin (and Zillow), but from time to time I'll see one where the photos all disappear shortly after the house sale closes. I'm guessing the new owners somehow request that everything be removed, but I don't know how it's done.
Remember, if you just want to look at them, it's fine. If you want to use them for anything, you need to find out who the copyright holder of the photos is and get permission from them or you're in violation of copyright law. That's usually the photographer, though in some cases the photographer will have, in writing, conveyed the copyright to the photos to the listing agent along with the right to use them.
Yes the old owner or new owner has to request they be removed sometimes, as the new owner I requested it on Realtor.com I think and they were removed on all sites, but they were the previous owners pics anyway but I didn't want them so now my address shows a google map image of the home.
It was either RedFin or Realtor.com that is notorious for retaining ALL listing pictures for public viewing well after a home has sold.
