Attention all you folks who keep insisting that working people can't buy a house.
Would be interesting to see if that working person could land a job in the area. Wages go with other COL unless you work from home. Then maybe.....

Marijuana farm or meth lab. Wouldn't have to worry about anyone running up on you that's for sure.

As for the renovation comment. True, but I like the rustic look of the house. Interior isn't too bad. It looks structurally sound just going by the attic pics. Doesn't seem rotten.
Did you notice the shim under one side of the fridge? Makes me wonder if there are foundation problems.

Otherwise, I really like it and think it could be a fun project to bring back to its full glory.

Unemployment rate in that town is 4.2%, so somebody has a job. Mortgage at today's rates wouldn't be much of a house payment. I get just over $300 a month if you didn't put anything down. A disability check would pay for that house if you couldn't work.

Not everywhere is priced like Seattle or Los Angeles.

I did not. I'm not a carpenter by no means. I can work on a engine but when it comes to building a house, I would measure 10 times and still cut 20 lol.

Probably would cost another 50k+ just to get it back to it's full glory. By the time you get it done a hurricane would come along and flood it. That would be my luck.

It's raised up a few feet... may stay above it, just get to fish from the porch after heavy rains.

Yes. Depends when it moved, whether it's still moving, and how fast.

Think it would be nice to build a modern house in this style today.

Elevated 1/2 story from the ground to give it some elevation from the topo.
