Hahaha... you forgot to mention: work hard, long hours, have second job in free time and never take off for vacations.

One reason large homes are being bought is that having children share a bedroom has become child endangerment.

So, a family with three children want a house with a minimum of four bedrooms. And if granny comes to visit, they will need a fifth bedroom. Mom or dad works from home? More bedrooms/offices needed here.

In many jurisdictions, you cannot foster or adopt a child unless the child has his own room; cannot share with non-biological siblings.

That is why I recommend a government job for those who want more stability.

Preferably, a higher paying one.

I had three sisters and one brother in a three-bedroom home. My brother got his own room, and in my room, it was two sisters to a twin bed -- and it was that way until I moved out at age 18! (Yep, when I talk about my childhood being borderline poor, I am not exaggerating.)

And yet, very few of us became serial killers.

Most places had only two bedrooms so it was not uncommon in my neck of the woods for siblings to share a bedroom regardless of sex.

Our parents did the best they could with their limited resources.

We appreciated their hard work and understood that ultimately we were responsible for the person we became.
