My husband finally got a job in Dallas, Texas .
This is great but we will walk away with a big loss on our home in Orlando. We bought it in 04 for 226K and now we might sell it for 215K or 210K who knws (The agent was here yesterday) . It is just so sad. Our value goes down every day. 50K from last december. I cannot believe it. I am still in shock, couldn't sleep all night. The market was so great when we bought it, we felt so good about it. Now we will rent for the next years. I am done with buying. It was our first home ,I wish I could take it with me. Sorry for crying like a baby.

If you can move that house right now you can still buy one in the DFW area from the proceeds. But don't wait! Drop the price and bail. Prices in FL will only go down. Economic refugees from other areas will prop up TX prices for a while. Sooner is much better than later.
Awww, hon, you're not crying like a baby. It's stressful and for those that HAVE to move it's not a picnic right now. The first house is always so special...but they call it the first because there will be another after it. Relax, go and when the time is right, you'll buy again.
And congrats to the hubby on landing a new job!
Simone, you are not alone...you can go back and read my posts for the last 10 months...we went under contract a week and a half ago, and we sold it for 100,000 less than we paid in Oct. 2005. It's just the market, we don't have the luxury of waiting it out, we are going back home to NorCal, via WA state for a while to lay low and recover from this ordeal.
We are in southern Utah, the market stinks everywhere. It's not just you..put a smile on your face, drop the price to below the competition and sell it. Save yourself a lot of time, grief and stress. That is my best advice to you dear.

Don't think of it as a loss, you did live there for a while. It stinks to sell for less than you paid, but we don't have control over the market. Houses in my nieghborhood were at $550 last year and this year I'm getting offers as low as $350. It's bad almost all over. Good luck to you.
Simone, Yay about hubby's job...does his new job come wiht any relocation package?
I feel your pain. We were in Miami Lakes and had to sell within a year (feb.07).
Lost about 25K. Thankfully relo paid for closing & commission or would have been worse.
My un professional advice? Go ahead and drop the price as low as you possibly can with out going into a coma. Better than everythng around you. Get you agent to have a open house ASAP, and maybe even a brokers open to get it out to as many as possible as quickly... take what get get and get the heck outta there!
Look at the bright side...your 'home' goes with you whereever you go.
Good luck to ya!
