I started a thread asking about different wines for cooking. Now I'd like to hear your favorite recipes that use wine or beer.
The first one I want to try is called:
Chicken Artichoke Skillet
Chicken Breasts
Artichokes, drained
1/2 medium red pepper cut in strips
1 medium onion sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 cup dry white wine
1 ts. thyme
Yummy pork chops in the crockpot -- Dice an onion, put it in the bottom of the crock pot. Layer pork chops over top one another -- boneless or bone-in, doesn't matter. Pour beer over the chops, just enough to cover them. Crack some pepper over top. Cook on low for six hours.
Beef Stroganoff
Chicken, potatoes & carrots, with white wine, lemon, garlic & oregano
Shrimp Scampi
Coquilles St. Jacques
Cal's Shrimp & Spaghetti in BBQ Spices
Cal's Linguini w/White Clam Sauce
Veal Farsu Margru
Hungarian Cherry Soup
Gorganzola Sauce for Ravioli or Pasta
Beef Short Ribs
...
and many more
I just made Guinness Beef Stew last night. Boy was it yummy. I just got the receipe off the Internet and pretty much followed it exactly with the exception of waiting an hour to put the vegetables in so they wouldn't be mushy. This is a great dish!
I use wine, beer and spirits in just about anything that has a sauce or a non dairy liquid associated with it. So just about 95% of everything I cook. I even use some wine to steam vegetables.
