I am only 1/4 German and I have only had sauerbraten at German restaurants. I would like to make this next week and I know there are some members on here who are German. Melanie or Almrausch do you have one you could share???

I also need a recipe for potato dumplings as well. I am a great cook but I like recommendations. I already know how to make potao pancakes from scratch. This is one of my mom's favorite meals and I want to make it for her.

I haven't made sauerbraten in years or I would have jumped in. The above recipe looks good to me. Don't worry about the sauerbraten spice. Check a few 'authentic German sauerbraten' recipes online. You're probably looking at some cloves and a couple other things - nothing fancy.

Sorry for beeing late :-)
I like to eat Sauerbraten, it is very delicious and it it usually made from horse! I made it only once and that is years ago, but from beef and haven`t got a recipe, sorry. But there are many recips to find in the internet. The best and most famous Sauerbraten here is the "Rheinischer Sauerbraten" , it is a sauerbraten recipe with raisins in the sauce. Very good!!!

If you want to make some " Beef Rouladen" let me know :-)
