My mom used to throw together a tuna casserole fast.

I think it was egg noodles, tuna, cream of chicken soup ?, cheese, some type of topping.

That would be quick, cheap and good but I need to find the recipe.

I will try the mayo tip next time..

It's my grandson, I doubt he would take a cooking class but my sons all like to cook and I hope he
gets more interested.

When my sons were that age I would often be their kitchen assistant so they got to
do the fun part to make a dish. I shopped, chopped, cleaned up. Both are avid cooks so I must have done something right.

I agree on asking him what he wants to make, but beef stew, chili, or shepherds pie are always good & relatively easy.

A chili recipe would be easy for him..
I will give him some ideas, but let him decide what he wants to do.
I have his late grandpa's chili recipe so that could be really special
for him and us as well..

Hash Brown Potato Casserole
Very easy and a REAL crowd pleaser!
I didn't notice until now that the recipe asks for 2 x Cream of Potato soup. I use just ONE can of Cream of Mushroom, but any kind of "creamy" soup will do fine.

Good to know.
All those "Creme Of" Soups seem to be interchangeable...

Less ingredients the better...easy. It's been a popular dish.

Orange chuck roast

1 cup oj
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons vinegar
3 lb. chuck roast

Combine ingredients in shallow pan, add roast. Cover and marinate several hrs., or overnight., turning roast occasionally.

Remove roast from pan, place in roasting pan or dutch oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 min., uncovered. Pour marinade over roast, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs., or until done.

6 servings.
