This past weekend my boyfriend was VERY sick so I spent the weekend doing things on my own. I must say, I had a great ol’ time!!!

When I was younger I always thought it was pathetic doing things like going shopping, watching movies etc on your own, but it’s very relaxing!

Anyone else enjoy doing things on their own?

I do. I particularly like going to a restaurant and sitting at the bar, eating lunch and drinking a beer. I surf the net on my phone and it's very relaxing.

I hate when people say things like, "You're too pretty to be alone!" or "What's a pretty girl doing by herself here?" like they expect to hear some dramatic story or drawn out explanation. I actually enjoy my own company and I love dining and drinking a glass of wine by myself in a restaurant.

This thread has the potential of hilarious implications.
I'm on vacation this week, the wife is not. I'm not traveling and don't have plans. Tomorrow I may go to a local bakery and have a slice of their cake of the month just because I can. I may not.

I do too. Sometimes it's nice to just do whatever you want without having to worry about what someone else wants to do.

I enjoy my own company very much. I just spent a couple weeks traveling around Australia by myself. Not one person made a negative comment and usually I got comments like "good for you" and "wow you're lucky". The doorman at one of my hotels did make a comment to me (as we were chit-chatting waiting for my tram and commenting on a bride & groom having photos taken right across the street) like "that could be you someday, you're still young" He then apologized if he embarrassed me - I told him "no worries"

anyway, I take vacations by myself and enjoy my quiet time at home as well. I have some nice friends but couldn't be out partying every night of the week.

It would be nice to have someone to travel with but not having anyone certainly doesn't stop me.

Definitely. It's nice to get away from the hecticness (did I just invent a word?) and do things just for yourself, on your own time.

I miss living near the beach. My ex-husband was not a beach person, so I went by myself every weekend I could. That was my "me" time. Very relaxing!

I do. This is actually why me and my friend don't talk anymore. I just wanted to do more stuff by myself, have some space. Unfortunately, this person took it the wrong way and well just got all offended. Meh, time will take care of matters.

Yeah. But most of the time I have no choice. I don't really have any friends who like to do anything more than once every few months at best. My family is far away. Luckily, I very much enjoy doing all sorts of things alone. Takes away all the stress of making sure you don't offend anybody.
