This happened to me and my husband earlier this evening and we both just feel kind of icky about it
Telling the spouse is not our place or even an option due to extenuating circumstances. In fact when we realized what was going on we just played dumb with the spouse in a phone call later in the evening. But the whole thing left us feeling down and uncomfortable.
Have any of you ever found out something by accident that you'd rather not ever have known about?
And do you ever feel just "icky" (like I do at the moment)?
I feel bad for you, since you have to see so much of that kind of stuff.
Oh yeah ICKY.....
- at first I couldn't look them in the eye... I have learnt to just push it aside, some things are actually terrible for the co-worker so I also have to just "forget" I saw it.
I know people always say "I would want to know" or "You should tell the person" but in reality it's not so easy.
Yes, I work in IT and part of my duties is to periodically check emails. We have an word filter that stops any inappropiate words being sent out.
The things I know about co-workers, the cheating, and other sexual things going on in their lives is amazing (why email that stuff at work?!)
Then I have to have dinners with their wives at company functions
I just keep my mouth shut.
It is none of my business.
In your position, I would be asking people to get my coffee, pick up my dry-cleaning, go put gas in my car (on their dime), or "you know how those emails have a way of getting out into the ether, HMMMMM?
geez are there happy and honestly committed marriages these days?
There are a few (I'm in one!)
