My grandma found out what MILF means before my mom found out, so it's possible that the mom doesn't know what MILF means.
As for your sisters, the sisters in their 40s might not know what MILF means (my mom is in her 40s).
But the sisters in their 30s probably know. American Pie came out in 1999, when they were either in their 20s or late teens.
American Pie is not really our cup of tea... I don't think any of them saw that movie; I know I didn't. I only know what it is because I'm a social networking junkie - unlike my other sisters.

I called a friend of mine one day and asked him what in the heck was up with all of these younger men hitting on me these days and he told me it was because I am a MILF. I told him he was crazy and his response was, no you are a MILF....in my eyes as well...
I was like geez. I was not offended, I found it kind of funny... Here I am 37 and I have these 17 yo + boys hitting on me.. ah well....
If the term cougar wasn't created by a woman it has certainly been embraced. The TV show "cougar town" isn't exactly aimed at men.
Not by me, nor any of the gals that I know. I think men use it much more. Personally, I think it's a stupid meaningless term as everyone has their own completely different definitions.
