This was tweeted yesterday by a fairly well known Australian sports program host.
This, along with tens of thousands of other tweets praising Charlie Sheen.
I wanted to write back to him asking him if his wife knew that his role model was a drug addict who cheats on his wives with prostitutes.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton later tweeted “Why is everyone glorifying Charlie Sheen’s behavior, but when Britney Spears went off the deep end she got the opposite reaction?”. A lot of people tweeted back that it was a gender thing, which I tend to agree with – if a woman behaves like this, it’s tragic. If a man behaves like this, it’s legendary.
While I was amused during days 1 and 2, I have reached the point in which I am sickened by this whole thing as there is just no denying that the man needs serious help. The hour long special last night was a new low in TV history, trotting out the mentally ill drug addict for laughs like he's a sideshow clown.
If people are "glorifying" the behavior of anyone who is mentally unbalanced that just adds to the tragedy.
And the kind of people who would do that are sick. They remind me of those women who seek out the attention of imprisoned criminal sickos like Ted Bundy.
So you think if a woman was shacked up with 2 male prostitutes, ranting and raving on an interview like Charlie Sheen was, she would be cheered just as his behaviour has been by these people?

Of course not. And who exactly do you think is "cheering" Charlie on?? Not normal people honey - only sicko's, fellow druggies with their own agendas.
Despite what Perez Hilton has to say, "everyone" isn't glorifying Sheen, as is evidenced right on this thread. So your question is moot.
That said, those who DO glorify him are probably viewing his as a rebellious spirit engaged in a battle against The Man. They dream of still partying at the age of 45, and having the balls to publicly say "FU" to the boss after being fired. (And yes, being male makes drug use more acceptable, ditto to public intoxication.) Spears, on the other hand, had no cause behind her. There was no perceived injustice.
Yes - it seems to be the case... I don't get the fascination of watching someone go over the edge as a form of entertainment.
