Met a really interesting woman, pretty, adventurous, sexy, down to earth, and way too honest! She told me right up front that she had done work in the industry. I looked her up on line and found she had done about 6 short flicks year years ago. It was a little wierd watching it but I am very open minded and have no problems dating her. She has not been a relationship in a while and tested herself often back in the day so STDs are not likely and I'm always protected anyway.
I'm not likely to have a LTR with her (or any other woman for that matter) and other than friends giving me crap if/when they found out what is the down side?

Interesting that you aren't interested in a LTR with her - guessing that means you only go after women you want to have sex with?

She's an EX-pornstar. She told you up front about it, and she has no STDs. Plus, judigng from your post, I can tell you do not think lowly of Porn Stars or maybe just her in particular, which is a good thing IMO. So I'd say go for it.
I can't think of any downside other than being ridiculed, which I don't care much about.

Not much different from a large percentage of the rest of society. All the heartbreak and relationships gone bad is proof. For 10 couples, maybe only 2 or 3 survive and the rest fall apart with one or both involved being wounded.

How long since her last test? What about you? Just get tested - both of you. Oh, and testing for STDs often does not include Herpes, which only 1/4 of the people who have it even know they have it because they are asymptomatic.
And most people don't know you can get it on adjacent areas a condom can't protect.
As far as what Loves Mountains said, well maybe. Sure, a high percentage of prostitutes and porn stars come from abuse, but not 100%.
I know of a woman who suffered childhood sexual abuse who became a prostitute. She "acted" like she loved what she did, but she really distrusted men and thought they were a big disappointment. I'm sure there are prostitutes who don't have such a negative background too. Same goes for porn stars.
I'd say you should get to know her better. That's the only way you're going to know the downsides.
